The Role

We are seeking a mid-level Infrastructure Engineer to join a well-established and growing software company based in Epsom, Surrey.

This is a full-time, on-site role supporting, managing, and optimising office infrastructure and data centre operations to ensure seamless performance, security, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience supporting physical servers, managing a Microsoft environment, and troubleshooting networks including firewalls, switches, and load balancers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Microsoft 365 Administration – Manage Exchange Online, Share Point, One Drive, and Teams, including user accounts, permissions, and integrations.
  • Infrastructure & Network Management – Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, and IP routing while troubleshooting network issues.
  • Server Management – Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2022, 2019, 2016) and Linux environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server, and Group Policies.
  • Virtualisation – Manage and support MS Hyper-V environments, including P2V and V2P migrations.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) – Deploy and maintain MDM solutions and enforce security policies.
  • Cybersecurity – Implement security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and apply patches to maintain compliance.
  • Email Deliverability & Authentication – Configure and monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and DNS settings to optimise email performance.
  • User Support – Provide 1st-3rd line support, troubleshoot issues, maintain IT assets, and improve IT workflows.
  • Documentation – Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and an up-to-date asset register.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and networking.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise-grade firewalls (e. g., Sonic Wall) and network troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V virtualisation and server deployments.
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Comp TIA, or similar) are desirable.
