Senior Underwriter

We are seeking a Senior Underwriter who will support the Product Head in developing and maintaining a range of products to ensure the agreed business plan targets and objectives are met. Exploiting new product opportunities and providing Product and Technical support both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ambassador for the V10 Values and Customer Charter in all activities.
  • Manage and review product ranges to ensure they remain competitive, compliant, and aligned to business targets.
  • Support business performance through data analysis, broker insight, pricing, and MI, including post-implementation reviews.
  • Manage new product developments and product amendments.
  • Prepare and present key product information and updates to the Head of Product.
  • Monitor market trends, broker intelligence, and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Manage and develop key broker and business relationships to drive profitable growth.
  • Build strong broker partnerships and gather customer feedback to support business objectives.
  • Escalate performance risks and support action plans to address issues.
  • Support performance monitoring, management information, and stakeholder review meetings.
  • Raise operational and performance issues with management as required.
  • Manage and mentor team members where applicable.
  • Respond to operational queries relating to product and policy issues.
  • Foster effective relationships with internal departments.
  • Promote group brands and represent the division internally and externally when required.

About You:

  • Experience within the motor insurance industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of market trends and business processes.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance management.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to analyse data, identify insights, and recommend actions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
