Portfolio Analyst
This is a hybrid role, where you will be required in your local office once a week. We have office locations in Manchester, Stoke, Southport and Peterborough.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to support the growth of the portfolio team through reporting, demand and capacity management and portfolio level analysis.  This includes collating, analysing and assuring within Planview which is the single source of truth for the portfolio.
The Portfolio Analyst will maintain the single source of truth within Planview ensuring the data is accurate for decision-making and continually analyse the performance of the Group portfolio.
In addition, this role will provide ongoing Planview administration and user support to assist in embedding the toll and driving consistency across change.Â
The Portfolio Analyst is responsible for updating and validating the single source of truth and continually analyses the performance of the portfolio to facilitate effective decision making.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Feed into the ‘single version of the truth’ within Planview of project information (e.g. status, costs, plans, resources) and aggregating and presenting that information to internal and external stakeholders
- Support the accuracy, integrity and effective use of Planview
- Support effective portfolio management through analysis, collation of data and reporting of KPIs and making recommendations
- Review portfolio data within Planview to ensure accuracy of data and identify trends to be included within portfolio reporting
- Support the production of reports for governance forums and comms
- Contribute to gathering independent evidence that the information from projects and programmes are valid and the portfolio is on track to achieve its objectives and benefits.
- Support the Portfolio Manager with and capacity planning and resource management to optimise the delivery of the portfolio
- Support the continuous review and improvement of the Change framework and Planview to ensure management of projects and programmes within the portfolios are comprehensive and consistent across different initiatives
- Support the identification of issues through monitoring of key controls, which may impact the successful delivery of the portfolios aims
- Feeding into the portfolio level plans and supporting the Senior Portfolio Analyst with the collation of key details including dependencies and resource requirements
- Working with the Finance Business Partner to feed into a consolidated portfolio view of budgets and tracking actual and forecast costs.
- Identify and feed into overall portfolio risks (threats and opportunities).
- Co-ordination of the key project controls (e.g. roadmap, change plan, critical path / dependency maps)
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in portfolio analysis role or similar
- Experience working with large volumes of data and data analysis
- Experience working in Planview
- Experienced in producing and presenting MI and BI
- Strong knowledge of change frameworks and the project lifecycle
- Portfolio planning and scheduling
- Resource management and capacity planning
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
