Our Head of Delivery Change can be based from either one of our offices in Manchester, Stoke, Southport, Peterborough or Portsmouth. We work on a hybrid basis between working from home and an office.

This is a key leadership position, responsible for the successful delivery of approved Programmes and Projects from initiation through to completion, as well as for oversight of Programme Managers and their teams.

We have a broad and varied change portfolio with this role spanning across Pricing, Underwriting, Capacity Provision, Infrastructure, Cyber, Data and Group Services, with an established and engaged team of Project and Programme Managers. The successful individual will have the influence to shape and continuously improve how we land change at scale within the Group.

Typical Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Programme & Project Oversight:

Ensure that approved Programmes and Projects are delivered safely and efficiently, from initiation to completion.

Oversight and line management of Programme Managers and their teams.

Manage the allocation of Projects and Programmes to Programme Managers, and the movement of work from Backlogs into Active Delivery, in line with agreed WIP limits.

Monitor Programme Delivery Performance against agreed KPIs, taking corrective actions as appropriate.

Stakeholder Management:

Form strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders at Director level and below.

Support Programme Managers and their teams in the removal of blockers, and the resolution of escalations.

Assurance:

Responsible for ‘first line’ Quality Assurance for Programme and Project deliverables

Make informed decisions in line with delegated authority limits of project spend, invoice approval, gate movements

Risk & Issue Management:

Work in partnership with the Head of PMO to ensure Risk Management Strategies are executed to identify and resolve Programme and Project level Risks and Issues.

Process Improvement:

Identify and execute improvements to delivery processes, frameworks and tooling to reduce change delivery cycle time, and costs.

Function Scaling & Growth:

Safely execute the scaling up/down of Programmes, Projects and Resources according to demand.

Other:

Deputise for the Associate Director of Change Delivery as and when required.

Own continuous professional development.

Develop a positive working environment and culture within your function.

What we are looking for

A person who has previous experience managing large Programmes or has previous experience as a Head of Change and can demonstrate a track record of delivery.

Knowledge and awareness of both waterfall and agile delivery best practice.

An engaging individual who is previous leadership experience.

A person who is comfortable managing stakeholders up to C suite level.

A person who has experience of managing 3rd party supplier delivery effectively across large programmes / portfolio level.
