Main purpose of job

To provide a quality service to clients in respect of renewal and new business insurance arrangements advising, arranging, and securing appropriate cover for our clients’ demands and needs, at a fair premium.

The Commercial division at Verlingue was established to specialise in supporting clients across our insurance business with income levels of up to £5,000. Our focus is on delivering outstanding service while building trusted, long‑term relationships with both our Domestic and International clients. Now an established and fast‑growing team within our Manchester branch, the division offers an ambitious and collaborative environment with clear progression opportunities for experienced professionals. The Commercial division is set up to support and encourage individuals to demonstrate strong technical capability, exceptional client service, and a proactive drive to develop their profile and career, across both new and existing business.



Key Accountabilities

General Responsibilities

  • · Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, insurers, and internal colleagues
  • · Ensuring all documentation, communication, and invoicing are issued compliantly and within agreed SLAs
  • · Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on Acturis, including call notes, correspondence, and activity logs
  • · Handling inbound and outbound client calls professionally, ensuring all information is clearly recorded and appropriately actioned
  • · Staying informed on market developments, insurer appetite, and industry updates
  • · Actively developing technical insurance knowledge, with a minimum of Cert CII to be achieved within 12 months of employment
  • · Liaising with the Accounts team to support premium payments, resolve queries, and assist with reconciliations where required

New Business

  • Broking clients with income up to £5,000 (referring to our Corporate colleagues where appropriate) and managing Scheme / Facility business
  • Invoicing and policy administration within SLA’s
  • Assessing insurer quotations - checking accuracy, suitability against the client’s demands and needs, and alignment with cover requirements
  • Comparing multiple quotes to ensure best value and appropriate coverage
  • Producing and maintaining Risk Registers
  • Premium Finance administration

Existing Business

  • Updating client records and policies with any changes to demands and needs, cover requirements, and underwriting information
  • Preparing broking presentations where risks is not suitable for e-trade
  • Obtaining and negotiating renewal terms from holding insurers and alternative markets, comparing quotes to ensure suitability and value for the client’s demands and needs
  • Producing and issuing a fully compliant renewal report and supporting documentation
  • · Managing mid-term adjustments (MTAs) and associated administration accurately and efficiently
  • Managing invoicing and premium finance administration within SLA’s
  • Reviewing and issuing documentation to clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Providing regular updates to clients throughout the renewal process
