We are looking for a motivated and client-focused Client Adviser to join our growing Commercial division in Manchester. This role will involve supporting clients with both new business and renewal insurance arrangements, ensuring they receive appropriate cover tailored to their demands and needs at a fair premium. You’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional client experience while building strong relationships with insurers, clients, and internal colleagues. About the Commercial Division
The Commercial division at Verlingue specialises in supporting clients across our insurance business with income levels of up to £5,000. We focus on delivering outstanding service while building trusted, long-term relationships with both Domestic and International clients. Now an established and rapidly growing team within our Manchester branch, the division offers an ambitious and collaborative environment where individuals are encouraged to demonstrate strong technical capability, exceptional client service, and a proactive approach to career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, insurers, and internal colleagues.
- Ensure all documentation, communication, and invoicing are issued compliantly and within agreed SLAs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on Acturis, including call notes, correspondence, and activity logs.
- Handle inbound and outbound client calls professionally and efficiently.
- Keep informed of market developments, insurer appetite, and industry updates.
- Continue developing technical insurance knowledge, achieving Cert CII within 12 months of employment.
- Liaise with the Accounts team regarding premium payments, reconciliations, and query resolution.
New Business Responsibilities
- Broker clients with income up to £5,000, referring larger opportunities where appropriate.
- Manage Scheme and Facility business.
- Complete invoicing and policy administration within SLA requirements.
- Assess insurer quotations for suitability, accuracy, and alignment with client demands and needs.
- Compare quotations to secure the best value and most appropriate cover.
- Produce and maintain Risk Registers.
- Manage Premium Finance administration.
Existing Business Responsibilities
- Update client records and policies with changes to cover requirements and underwriting information.
- Prepare broking presentations for non e-trade risks.
- Obtain and negotiate renewal terms from existing and alternative insurers.
- Produce compliant renewal reports and supporting documentation.
- Manage mid-term adjustments (MTAs) accurately and efficiently.
- Handle invoicing and premium finance administration within SLA requirements.
- Review and issue client documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide regular updates to clients throughout the renewal process.
About You
- Minimum of 3 years’ insurance industry experience, ideally within a Commercial Client broking environment.
- Good working knowledge of General Commercial Lines business and the broking market.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Positive and proactive approach with excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and colleagues.
- Professional, client-focused, and committed to delivering excellent service.
- Good working knowledge of Acturis.
- Familiarity with e-trade and online insurer broking platforms.
