What we're looking for… We are seeking a VAT specialist to join our Indirect Tax team. This role offers a mix of compliance and project work. You will be instrumental in ensuring the group meets its regional VAT/GST obligations while contributing to the enhancement of our tax function through systems and process automation.

What you'll be doing… In the role you will be responsible for all areas of the indirect tax reporting, such as and not limited to; VAT compliance, systems and process improvement and be the key advisory and support point for contact across EMEA.

  • Manage the end-to-end VAT compliance cycle for multiple jurisdictions, including in-house filings and coordination with external service providers.
  • Perform detailed reviews of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat files to ensure accuracy and regional compliance.
  • Deliver tax audit support by collaborating with Tax Management and Tax Authorities on information requests and compliance programs.
  • Provide practical VAT advice to internal stakeholders regarding business flows, cross-border transactions, and legislative changes.
  • Support the implementation and update of ERP VAT configurations and digital reporting requirements such as B2B e-invoicing.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual workflows and enhance the quality of tax data through continuous improvement projects.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Professional tax qualification (e.g. ATT, CTA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of VAT across the EU / EMEA region with APAC knowledge desirable.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Practical experience with systems implementation or the 'Tax Technology' side of VAT is highly desirable.
  • Indirect Tax experience with some time in an in-house tax department preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP).
  • Experience with VAT compliance software or data analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx, AI tools) an advantage.
