Job Title: Sales Account Manager (Field-Based)
Location: South West of England & South Coast Line of England
Reporting to the Sales Controller, we are looking for a Territory Sales Manager to join this market leading food business. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about driving sales, maintaining strong customer relationships, and contributing to the success of the company’s growth strategy in the FMCG sector.
Purpose of the Job:
- To maintain and maximise the profitability of existing Independent Accounts.
- To actively seek and acquire new business within agreed geographical target areas (South West of England and South Coast Line of England).
- To achieve sales and profitability targets set by the Line Manager.
- To provide excellent customer service and account management.
- To foster positive relationships across various functions within the company.
Key Outputs/Deliverables:
- Achieve sales (£ & volume) and profit (£ & %) targets.
- Meet collection targets in line with agreed terms of trade.
- Successfully manage promotions within agreed budgets and schedules.
- Exceed call rate targets for customer engagement.
- Achieve new account trading targets within sales (£ & volume) and profit (£ & %).
Principal Responsibilities:
- Sell group products at agreed prices to customers.
- Control cash collections and payments within agreed terms.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and prospects through an agreed journey cycle.
- Adhere to company policies and maintain a positive image of the company at all levels.
- Target prospects on agreed conurbation routes and develop new opportunities.
- Maintain and update all relevant records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide management with updates on competitor activity and market trends.
- Support colleagues by covering their accounts during holiday periods.
- Arrange and attend trade shows to promote company products and services.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum GCSE qualifications with A-C in Maths and English.
- Minimum 2 years of FMCG sales experience (Food and Drink preferred, in Foodservice or Retail).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

- Strong numeracy skills.

- Highly analytical with an ability to assess and interpret data.
