Interventions & SEN Support LS17, Leeds Full-Time | Long-Term Role Primary School
We are looking for an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the LS17 area of Leeds on a long-term basis.
This is a varied role working across Year 3 and Year 2, combining small-group intervention work with more focused SEN and behaviour support.
The Role
Morning - Year 3 You will work with pupils in Year 3, delivering and supporting targeted interventions, including:
- Small intervention groups
- Literacy and numeracy interventions
- Reading schemes and reading support
- Sensory circuits
- Helping pupils close gaps in their learning
- Supporting children who need additional encouragement and structure
Afternoon - Year 2 In the afternoons, the role becomes more focused on 1:1 and classroom-based support, working with pupils who have additional SEN and behavioural needs.
You will help children remain engaged in learning, manage behaviour positively and provide additional support within the classroom where required.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working in a primary school
- Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy and reading interventions
- Have experience supporting children with SEN
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour
- Be comfortable working both 1:1 and with small groups
- Be patient, proactive and able to adapt their approach to individual pupils
- Be looking for a full-time, long-term position
This would be a brilliant opportunity for an experienced TA who enjoys a varied role and wants to make an impact both academically and through individual SEN support.
