English Teacher - Full-Time, Long-Term Role

About the Role

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a successful secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting from October Half Term 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious English department committed to raising attainment and developing students' confidence in reading, writing, and communication. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons and inspire a love of learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students
• Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
• Support students in achieving their academic potential

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and classroom management skills
• Is passionate about English and student achievement
• Has strong communication and organisational skills
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
