Veritas Education is delighted to be working with a warm, community-centred primary school in Southwark to recruit a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team from December 2025. This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is highly regarded for its inclusive ethos, engaging curriculum, and strong commitment to ensuring every child thrives academically and personally.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering high-quality, inspiring lessons that nurture curiosity, independence, and a love of learning at this crucial early stage. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated teacher who enjoys creating dynamic KS1 lessons, building strong relationships with pupils and their families, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

The Ideal Year 1 Teacher Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Experience teaching in a primary school (desirable, but ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply)
  • A solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early assessment expectations

  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to Year 1 learners
