Duration: Approx. 3 monthsA welcoming and supportive primary school in Hayes is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to deliver high‑quality Phonics and early reading support across KS1. The school is looking for someone confident with the Read Write Inc programme and experienced in helping pupils develop foundational reading skills.
This short‑term role is ideal for a proactive practitioner who can step in quickly, follow established routines, and make an immediate impact on pupil progress. You\’ll be working with small groups and individual pupils who need targeted Phonics intervention to help close gaps and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Phonics interventions using the Read Write Inc programme.
Support pupils in developing early reading, blending, segmenting, and comprehension skills.
Work with small groups and individual learners to accelerate progress.
Follow structured Phonics plans and contribute to ongoing assessment.
Provide clear, consistent modelling of sounds, routines, and reading strategies.
Collaborate with class teachers and the English/Phonics Lead to ensure continuity.
Encourage pupils through positive reinforcement, praise, and engaging activities.
Track pupil progress and share observations with staff to inform next steps.What We\’re Looking For
