Teaching Assistant - Year 5 (1:1 & Classroom Support)

Start Date: Monday | Full-Time | 08:45-15:15 | Monday-Friday

Are you an enthusiastic and supportive Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity? We're recruiting for a dedicated TA to join a welcoming primary school, supporting a Year 5 class in a mixed role that combines both 1:1 support and general classroom assistance.

The Role:

  • You will work closely with the class teacher to provide support across the classroom, as well as offering some focused 1:1 support to a pupil who requires additional help.
  • The school are seeking an extra adult in the room to ensure all children can fully access their learning.
  • Some out-of-class support work will also be required.

Hours: 08:45-15:15

Days: Monday to Friday

Location: Lancaster

Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a child with additional needs
  • Assisting the teacher with general classroom duties
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and emotional development
  • Leading small group work where required
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children (school-based preferred)
  • A proactive, caring, and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
