An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a secondary school for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Tadworth, Surrey. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for students who require additional support to engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans
- Help manage challenging behaviour and provide positive reinforcement
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to promote the wellbeing and academic progress of students
- Previous experience working with students with ASD and challenging behaviour is desirable
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
