Food Technician West London Full-Time, Permanent role Salary: 140 - 180+ per day

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Food Technician to join a well-established independent specialist secondary school in West London, supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and additional learning needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive team and help deliver engaging Food Technology lessons.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Food Technician, School Food Technician, Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant, Food Preparation Assistant, or Hospitality Assistant, particularly within education or SEN settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical Food Technology lessons.
  • Support teaching staff and students during food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked food technology environment.
  • Monitor stock levels and order ingredients, equipment, and resources as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
  • Support students with SEN, Autism, SEMH, and additional learning needs during practical sessions.

Requirements

  • Have experience as a Food Technician, Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant, or similar.
  • Possess a good understanding of Food Hygiene, Food Safety, and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have experience working in a school, college, SEN, or educational setting (desirable).
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, or additional needs (advantageous).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
