Position: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: 95 – 115 per day
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Croydon, South London, to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This OFSTED-rated \’Good\’ school is highly regarded for its nurturing ethos and strong support for children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional development is fully supported.
This is an excellent opportunity for a patient, empathetic, and proactive individual with SEND experience who is passionate about helping children thrive in a positive and inclusive environment.
The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (essential)
- Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and parents
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Providing tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Supporting the pupil\’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Using appropriate resources and strategies to aid communication and engagement
- Monitoring progress and reporting to the class teacher and SENCO
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
