Waltham Forest, North London

As an SEN Support Staff member, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to support students with a variety of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and speech and language challenges.

SEN Support Staff Role:

  • Promote independence, self-confidence, and emotional wellbeing among pupils.
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to ensure accessibility for all students with SEN.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support with personal care needs, where appropriate.

SEN Support Staff Requirements:

  • Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, or a strong desire to support those with additional learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
