Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school in the Guildford area from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a genuine impact on the lives of pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
- Support students both in and out of the classroom to help them access learning.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence.
- Assist with implementing individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and sensory needs.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is advantageous.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- Relevant education, care, support work, youth work, or psychology experience welcomed.
