Veritas Education is seeking a highly experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Outstanding Catholic primary school located in Islington. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and skilled practitioner with a minimum of five years' experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within a primary setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and global developmental delay.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of targeted interventions in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Promote a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment aligned with the school's values and Catholic ethos (practising faith is not a requirement).
- Contribute to pupil progress through effective behaviour regulation, communication support, and engagement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of a range of additional needs and appropriate support strategies.
- Demonstrable ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, proactive approach.
