We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Blackburn from September 2025. This full-time role is focused on easing the transition for children moving from nursery into reception, particularly those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and SEN (Special Educational Needs) needs.

Working closely with the Early Years team, you will lead small group sessions (up to 5 children), helping them adjust to the structured school environment, develop early learning skills, and build the emotional confidence they need to thrive.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH and SEN, ideally in an Early Years or KS1 setting
  • Relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging group activities tailored to developmental needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for early childhood education
