The Role:
Veritas Education are looking to recruit multiple SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) support staff members for a range of different special needs settings and schools we work in partnership with. Throughout this role, you will support a broad scope of different learners, with varying needs, behaviours and backgrounds. Support staff will be expected to provide nurturing, trauma informed and compassionate support for all the learners they work with.
Responsibilities
- Support on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Manage and de-escalate challenging or at-risk behaviour
- Show a good understanding on learning needs and safeguarding requirements
- Work effectively and professionally alongside other support staff, teachers and outside agencies to provide appropriate education for the students
- Be comfortable supporting children across primary and secondary school age groups
- Supporting across a range of social, behavioural and learning needs
