Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Veritas is currently looking for dedicated and resilient Graduate Teaching Assistants with a psychology background to join primary, secondary, and SEN schools across West and South West London. These full-time roles are available to start as soon as possible. Successful candidates will be a positive influence and role model for children and young students, supporting learners at all levels within the classroom setting.
You will have some experience working with children and young people, and you may have an interest in pursuing a career in teaching in the future. Experience or knowledge of supporting individuals with learning difficulties would be beneficial. You will be empathetic, resilient, and confident with behaviour management.
Responsibilities of Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant include:
- Supporting students to reach their full academic potential.
- Providing targeted support one-to-one, in small groups, and across the whole class.
- Encouraging students to engage actively with their learning.
- Helping to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting the teacher with classroom activities, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting students\β overall learning and development.
Key skills and experience of Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant needed:
- Recent psychology (or related subject) graduate
- Experience supporting students, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
- Strong behaviour management
- Enthusiastic
- Resilient and patient
- Desirable: experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting
