Veritas Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Morecambe. This is a full-time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:15pm.
The Role
- You will be providing individual support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) who is currently unable to fully access the classroom curriculum.
- The pupil can become dysregulated, displaying behaviours such as repetitive looping, and currently spends much of the day working outside the classroom environment.
- Working closely with the school's SEND team, class teacher and external professionals, you will:
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
- Support emotional regulation and engagement throughout the school day.
- Deliver tailored activities and individual projects to meet the pupil's needs and interests.
- Provide structured support outside the classroom environment.
- Encourage social interaction and communication development.
- Work towards agreed targets aimed at gradually reintegrating the pupil back into the classroom setting.
- Record progress and provide feedback to school staff.

- Experience working with children with Autism and additional needs.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Experience supporting pupils with complex SEND needs is desirable.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
