An Independent school based in the London borough Kensington and Chelsea is requiring a SEN TA to start as soon as possible. The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with learning difficulties, including autism and dyslexia. For the right candidate, the role will begin temporarily and then go onto a permanent position.
The school needs an SEN TA who has the ability to keep calm and patient, able to work with other colleagues to support children accordingly. You will need to be pro-active and engaging with the children to maintain relationships on a 1:1 level and in small groups. You will have to encourage independence amongst the children and foster a positive learning environment.
Required skills and qualifications:- Experience with children from an SEN background
- Alternatively, experience working with children with disabilities
- A degree is preferred in subjects such as psychology, education or similar
- Some previous training/experience in speech and language therapy/communication
- High professionalism
- Ability to encourage a successful learning environment
