About the Role
We are seeking a high-achieving Science graduate with a passion for education to join a high achieving secondary school as a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, researchers, or education professionals looking to gain hands‑on classroom experience in a supportive and academically ambitious environment. You will work closely with experienced Science teachers across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, supporting lessons, running practical sessions, and helping students reach their full potential. This role is a September 2026 start, with interviews commencing in June/July.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging KS3–KS5 Science lessons
- Assist in preparing and setting up practical laboratory experiments
- Provide 1:1 and small group academic support to students
- Help stretch and challenge high‑achieving pupils
- Support students with varying learning needs to ensure full classroom inclusion
- Maintain a safe and organised science lab environment
- Contribute to revision sessions, intervention groups, and STEM enrichment activities
Ideal Candidate
- A 2:1 or above in a Science‑related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
- Strong academic background and subject knowledge
- A genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
- Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
- Aspiring teachers are highly encouraged to apply
