Veritas Education is delighted to be supporting a warm, inclusive, and community-focused primary school in Southwark, who are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is widely recognised for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to helping every child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing both one-to-one and small-group support to ensure pupils can fully access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the classroom.
This role is ideal for a patient, enthusiastic, and empathetic individual who is genuinely passionate about helping children thrive within an engaging and inclusive primary setting.
The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:
- Proven experience supporting children in a primary school environment (essential)
- Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, particularly when working with pupils with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Assisting the class teacher with delivering differentiated learning activities
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
