Role Overview

Graduate Science Technician at an independent Secondary School in Barnet, starting September 2026.

Veritas Education is recruiting for a science technician to support the science department, assisting during practical lessons and occasional class sessions.

The role involves preparing materials, carrying out risk assessments, managing stock, disposing waste, and supporting students.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other technicians to prepare materials and equipment for science lessons.
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain safety compliance.
  • Monitor and replenish stock, and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Support students during practical sessions and other class activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the school’s new facilities across science departments.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Science based degree (BSc, MSc, MRes or Ph D) essential.
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Experience working in an educational setting, such as with students.
  • Valid DBS Certificate and two satisfactory references.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to attend a registration interview.
