As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical lessons that inspire students to develop cooking, nutrition, food preparation and life skills. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Develop engaging schemes of work that promote creativity, healthy living and practical food preparation skills.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback and intervention where required.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained within the Food Technology classroom.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals to support student outcomes.
About You
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Possess strong classroom management skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience working with students with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
