We are seeking a flexible and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a daily supply basis within a SEN school in Hackney. This role involves supporting pupils aged 4-19 years with a range of complex needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), alongside associated social, emotional, and learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education who is looking for flexible, hands-on experience supporting young people with additional needs.
SEN Teaching Assistant Role- Supporting pupils with a variety of SEN, including SLD, PMLD, SEMH and additional learning needs
- Providing 1:1 and small group support depending on daily requirements
- Assisting with personalised learning activities, care routines, and sensory sessions
- Supporting pupils' communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Working alongside class teachers and specialist staff to maintain a safe and structured environment
- Building positive relationships to promote pupils' confidence, independence, and wellbeing
- A genuine passion for supporting children with complex and profound needs
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach (essential for supply work)
- Experience with SLD and/or PMLD (desirable but not essential)
- Experience with manual handling, personal care, or sensory support (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
- Ideal for aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Therapists, or those pursuing a career in Health & Social Care
