Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN), and to contribute to the overall ethos of the school.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities under the guidance of the teacher.
Support pupils individually or in small groups to help them access the curriculum.
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Support pupils with SEN, EAL, or those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Prepare and maintain learning resources and classroom displays.
Supervise pupils during break times, outings, and school activities.
Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils in line with safeguarding policies.

Person Specification

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate or Diploma).
GCSEs in English and Maths (A*-C or equivalent).
Experience working in a school setting across different key stages.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and Enhanced DBS clearance/willingness to get one.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
Organised, patient, and committed to professional development.
