We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and empathetic Learning Mentor to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at schools across North London. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies to provide tailored support that enables students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Learning Mentor Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for SEN students
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development
  • Implement personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals
  • Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in students

Learning Mentor Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field is desirable
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
