Veritas Education are working closely with a number of secondary schools across East Lancashire and are currently recruiting Pastoral Support Officers for short-term and long-term assignments.
The Role
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students' behaviour, well-being, and personal development. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting students with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
- Managing behaviour and promoting positive engagement in school
- Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and safeguarding leads
- Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Acting as a trusted adult and positive role model
Requirements
- Experience supporting young people in a school, pastoral, youth work, or support-focused role
- A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt to different school environments
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
