Veritas Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Lancaster for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support their Nursery Class. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or Early Years practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.
Position Details
- Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Nursery Class
- Location: Lancaster
- Start Date: September 2026
- Hours: Thursday afternoons, Fridays (full day)
- Contract: Part-time, term-time only
- Sector: Primary Education / Early Years
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery team to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children's development, and help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Duties may include leading small groups, supporting planned activities, covering lessons where required, and contributing to children's progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or Primary setting
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, proactive and flexible approach
- A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
