The predicted salary is between 23000 - 28000 Β£ per year.

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Knowsley, Liverpool, supporting pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional learning needs. Working closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs both in the classroom and during individual or small group interventions
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum
  • Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support the management of behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external professionals
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech, language and communication difficulties
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
