We are seeking an ambitious, creative and inspiring Head of Drama to lead our thriving Drama Department and drive excellence in performing arts across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate teacher with strong leadership skills to shape an engaging curriculum, deliver outstanding performances and inspire students of all abilities. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising achievement at GCSE level and a passion for developing young people through performance and creativity.

About the Role

  • Lead and develop the Drama Department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Direct and produce high-quality school performances and productions
  • Motivate and inspire students regardless of their starting points
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
  • Lead curriculum development in line with current educational thinking and the National Curriculum
  • Support and develop colleagues within the department
  • Promote inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities through the performing arts
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community
