About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Primary Teacher - Special Educational Needs Focus. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons to primary-aged pupils (ages 4-18), supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires strong experience within an SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet a diverse range of learning needs. You will play a key role in empowering pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of SEN needs
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and behavioural development
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are consistently followed
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Proven experience working within an SEN school setting (essential)
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Ability to differentiate effectively for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
