Veritas Education is working with a number of specialist schools and alternative provisions across the Guildford area who are seeking committed and resilient SEMH/SEN Teachers to join their teams. The Role
- You will be working within specialist settings supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and other complex learning needs.
- Teaching responsibilities may vary depending on the provision, but will typically include:
- Delivering differentiated lessons across KS2-KS4 (subject specialism welcome)
- Supporting students working below age-related expectations
- Managing behaviour using consistent, trauma-informed approaches
- Creating a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience teaching within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with students who may present challenging behaviour
- A flexible and resilient mindset
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
