A forward-thinking secondary school in the town of Maidstone is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join their Humanities department from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to join a supportive school community on a temporary basis from September through to Christmas, with the strong possibility of the role being extended into 2027.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop a curiosity about the world and a strong understanding of physical and human geography.

Start Date: September

Contract: Full-time, temporary (September - Christmas initially)

Potential Extension: Through to 2027

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver well-structured Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach engaging content across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 may be available depending on experience)
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to promote high levels of student engagement
  • Contribute to the wider Humanities department and school community

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome)
