About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and organized Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology team. This part‑time role is vital to ensuring our practical classrooms are safe, clean, and exceptionally well‑managed, allowing teachers to deliver high‑quality lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Hygiene & Maintenance: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. This includes the daily cleaning and deep cleaning of ovens, hobs, work surfaces, and equipment.
- Allergen Awareness: Ensure strict management and awareness of pupils' food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements to maintain a safe environment.
- Budget & Stock Control: Manage the food department budget efficiently, handling the ordering, purchasing, and preparation of ingredients while minimizing waste.
- Classroom Support: Prepare and set out ingredients and equipment for Food Tech lessons.
About You
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Meticulous attention to hygiene, food safety, and allergen control.
- Experience managing budgets, stock, or resources.
- Comfortable maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient practical workspace.
- Sympathetic to the supportive, high‑achieving ethos of a secondary school environment.
