A welcoming and supportive primary school in Waltham Forest is looking to appoint a qualified EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who holds a Level 3 qualification and is passionate about supporting children's early development. This welcoming and inclusive primary school is committed to providing a positive and engaging Early Years environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and develop. With a strong focus on teamwork, creativity, and child-centred learning, the school provides staff with the support and resources needed to make a real difference in children's early education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom
  • Assist with planning and delivering engaging play-based activities
  • Support children's personal, social, and emotional development
  • Work with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Complete observations and contribute to children's learning journeys
  • Support classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence

Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Experience working within an Early Years or school setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working within EYFS
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Knowledge of observations, assessments, and learning journeys
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification
  • Experience working as an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Nurse
