Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Darwen. This role involves working closely with two KS1 pupils who are bright and capable learners, both able to access the curriculum with the right support in place.

The position focuses on supporting regulation and ensuring pupils remain engaged and settled throughout the school day. This is well-suited to someone who is proactive, organised, and able to recognise early signs of dysregulation, putting appropriate strategies in place before behaviours escalate.

Applicants must have:

  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • At least 6 months of classroom experience
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly around emotional regulation
  • A proactive, organised, and efficient working style
  • The ability to recognise triggers and pre-empt behaviour changes
  • A calm, active, and adaptable approach

The role will include supporting learning within the classroom, facilitating regulation breaks when needed, and working collaboratively with teaching staff to maintain a structured and supportive environment.

All applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS Check, reference checks, and any necessary overseas police clearances (if applicable) in line with safeguarding policies. Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment, including explanations for any gaps. Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to attend a registration interview.
