Pay: £16.49 plus £500 bonus linked to performance

Working hours per week: 35 - 40 hours per week

Shifts: Mixture of earlies and lates

We do require staff who hold a full UK driving license for this role.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

On a day-to-day basis, the role is supporting the Manager in aspects of the services' management. The role will involve supervising and working with the care staff team providing effective care and support to adult residents with profound learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To supervise and lead staff teams providing day to day support to service users liaising with the manager on matters arising.
  • Assisting the manager in general care/healthcare administration matters within the service.
  • These will include:
  • staff rota preparation for approval by the manager
  • arranging cover for staff holidays and other absences
  • maintaining individual care plans
  • maintaining individual health action plans
  • risk assessments
  • involvement in new service user admissions
  • involvement in service user review meetings
  • being part of an 'on call' rota for the service
  • dealing with any complaints in line with policy and procedure informing and referring to the manager as required
  • Assisting the manager in the day-to-day personnel management within the service.
  • This will involve:
    • staff supervision
    • preparation of the wage information
    • return to work interviews
  • Supervise and participate with the Lifestyle activities for service users within the service and in the community, assisting the manager to monitor individual progress.
  • Including working alongside the Lifestyle Team; ensuring the rotas within the service provide relevant staffing levels so that activities can take place; motivating the staff to participate in activity sessions.
  • Handling petty cash and service user's cash within the service, maintaining records and collating information as required by the Finance Team.
  • Ensuring staff are provided with a home induction and the relevant on the job training so that they can accurately provide the support required by service users and create a homely atmosphere.
  • Supervising the professional training and development of support staff to ensure that they attend and complete all training courses and have the skills and knowledge to carry out their roles.
  • Ensuring that care regulations and procedural matters are followed within the service, and all policies and procedures adhered to.
  • Including ensuring all staff are aware of new and updated policies and procedures.
  • Supervising the ordering, storage and administration of medications in accordance with service users' individual health plans and the services' internal procedures.
  • Ensuring that service users receive required healthcare treatments and attend scheduled appointments (hospital appointments, physiotherapy etc) in accordance with individual health plans.
  • Driving the Company's vehicles and mobility vehicles in line with Company procedures, to ensure services users can attend appointments and activities.
  • Working with the manager to maintain relationships with service users' families, social workers and other health professionals.
  • Including being the main point of contact for the service user's families.
  • Working with the manager to foster good relationships with the housing provider, where applicable, liaising with them as appropriate.
  • Maintaining and writing reports as required.
  • Ensuring that health & safety and fire regulations are met within the service at all times.
  • Ensuring that all safety checks within the service are completed.
  • Arranging and leading staff meetings as required.
  • Attending training courses as required.
  • To perform other duties from time to time as may reasonably be required.
  • Essential: Full UK Driving Licence, Level 3 in Health and Social Care or higher.
