Role summary: The successful candidate will teach from Reception up to Year 4. An independent all-boys school is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated Teacher of Computing to join their vibrant and successful school community on a permanent, part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to inspire pupils from Reception to Year 4, helping develop their confidence, creativity and digital skills from the very beginning of their educational journey. The school are looking for someone who is passionate about Computing and educational technology, and who can bring energy, innovation and imagination into the classroom. As well as delivering engaging lessons, the successful candidate will play an important role in promoting Computing across the school and will lead three after-school Computing clubs each week, helping to foster curiosity and enthusiasm beyond the classroom.
The Role:
- Teach Computing to pupils from Reception to Year 4.
- Deliver inspiring, age-appropriate and engaging lessons that encourage creativity and problem-solving.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental schemes of work.
- Monitor, track and report on pupil progress.
- Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and presentation.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that supports all learners.
- Promote the effective use of digital technologies across the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
- Keep up to date with developments in Computing and educational technology.
- Lead three after-school Computing clubs each week.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral, supervisory and extracurricular responsibilities.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, professionalism and pupil welfare.
About You:
- A degree-level qualification.
- PGCE and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent experience teaching Computing and/or ICT.
- The ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Strong technical knowledge and digital skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
