The Role

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a variety of college settings in the Leeds area, recruiting learning support workers for post 16 settings that offer a range of vocational and further education curriculums. As a learning support worker you must be confident in supporting across a range of classes, helping learners access their education and achieve academic and independent growth. Throughout the role you will need to manage behaviour across the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, helping manage disruptiveness within the lesson, keeping learners focused and engaged, and de-escalating at-risk or crisis behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working across a range of different learners, varying in academic and behaviour abilities.
  • Happy to support on a 1:1 basis, to provide extra academic support, or for behaviour management.
  • Confident in behaviour management, with previous experience supporting SEMH, behavioural and ADHD needs in learners who are 16+.
  • Willing to get involved with both academic and practical sessions, and help as much as possible across the college’s range of qualifications and vocational avenues.
