As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a student, providing tailored support to help them engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the classroom. This role is ideal for a patient, proactive, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting children, particularly those with additional needs, within a supportive primary school environment.

Ideal 1:1 Teaching Assistant
  • Proven experience supporting children, particularly in a 1:1 or small-group capacity - essential
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
  • A calm, caring, and resilient approach when working with students with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Main Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 tailored support to help the student access the curriculum
  • Supporting the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective strategies for the student's learning and development
  • Promoting the student's social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Using creative and engaging strategies to support the student's learning and confidence
  • Monitoring the student's progress and providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
