We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Chorley, supporting students aged 13 and above with sensory needs. The successful candidate will deliver a tailored, engaging curriculum that meets each student's unique learning requirements, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects for students with sensory needs
  • Support students' individual EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and sensory-friendly learning environment
  • Assess, track, and report pupil progress effectively
  • Collaborate with TAs, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet student needs
  • Promote students' social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit varying abilities and sensory requirements

Requirements

  • QTS/QTLS (essential)
  • Proven experience teaching secondary-aged students with SEN, particularly sensory needs
  • Strong understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and sensory processing differences
  • Ability to deliver lessons across multiple subjects and adapt teaching methods effectively
  • Calm, nurturing approach and excellent classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
