We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4-19 years with special educational needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), alongside associated social, emotional, and learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with complex needs to thrive in a specialist SEN school environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including SLD and PMLD, as well as SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs and abilities
  • Assisting with personalised learning programmes, care plans, and sensory-based activities
  • Supporting communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Building positive, trusting relationships to promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in supporting children with complex and profound learning needs
  • A patient, calm, and proactive approach
  • Experience supporting pupils with SLD and/or PMLD (desirable but not essential)
  • Manual handling, personal care, or sensory support experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
  • Ideal for aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Therapists, or Health & Social Care professionals
