We're working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Burnley who are looking for a confident and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead interventions and support pupils in reaching their full potential.

This role would suit an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to build valuable classroom experience ahead of their first teaching post, or an Education Studies graduate keen to gain hands-on experience leading groups and delivering learning before moving into teacher training.

The role: You'll play a key role across the school, delivering targeted interventions and occasionally leading whole class sessions. You'll be trusted to work independently, build positive relationships with pupils, and support their academic progress in a meaningful way.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
  • Leading pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress
  • Working closely with teaching staff to adapt support where needed
