Breakfast and Afterschool Club Manager Location: Chessington, Kingston upon Thames Position: Breakfast and Afterschool Club Manager Start date: January Pay: £24,000 – £27,000 Hours 07:30 – 10:00 and 14:00 – 18:00 Veritas Education are working with an amazing and friendly company running multi-activity camp that run events for children aged 4-14 across South London. They are looking for a passionate breakfast and after school manager that will facilitate the highest quality experience for children within their community, providing them with the very best activities and equipment when joining the team. The ideal candidate for the breakfast and afterschool club manager role will be confident, friendly and well organised. They should be energetic, enthusiastic and compassionate, with a natural ability to connect with children and lead a team. Strong communication will be valued and essential to be a breakfast and after school club manager, along with the ability to balance assertiveness with a sense of fun and engagement. A keen awareness of safeguarding and health & safety is also critical to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities for Breakfast and Afterschool Club Manager Lead and oversee all activities at the club, ensuring alignment with Activity Operating Procedures (AOPs) and inspiring the team to provide a high-quality programme of activities that engage and motivate children. Coordinate the safe, appropriate, and timely set-up and pack-up of activities on camp, ensuring all procedures set out by the company are followed by the team to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency. Oversee the storage, organisation, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring resources are well cared for, organised, and available for use, while supporting staff in managing these responsibilities. Supervise and support the preparation of food, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met in all facilities and that the team maintains a safe and hygienic environment at all times. Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children at the club, acting as the designated safeguarding lead to handle concerns swiftly and appropriately, in line with relevant policies and procedures. Foster a welcoming, communicative, and professional atmosphere among staff, children, parents, carers, teachers, and other stakeholders, building trust and ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved. Encourage the development of children’s social and emotional skills, guiding the team to create a supportive, inclusive environment where children feel valued and confident to express themselves. Identify and respond to individual needs or challenges among children, guiding staff in offering appropriate support to ensure every child has an engaging and enjoyable experience at the club. Lead, motivate, and manage the team, providing regular feedback, mentoring, and training to ensure high performance and professional growth among staff members.Essential Attributes for Breakfast and Afterschool Club Manager: ● 18 years or older and have the right to work in the UK. ● Confident in leading and motivating a team. ● Enthusiastic, organised, reliable and trustworthy. ● Have a fun and approachable manner with children and young people. ● Professional demeanour, able to work under pressure, and prioritise safety at all times. Preferred Attributes for Breakfast and Afterschool Club Manager: ● Experience in sports, coaching, or managing children’s events/activities. ● Hold an Enhanced DBS Check for the Children’s Workforce. ● Hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification. ● Hold a Level 1 or 2 Food Safety and Handling certificate.
