Learning Support Assistant (SEND) - Blackpool About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive education setting in Blackpool. This role involves working closely with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing both 1:1 and 2:1 tailored support to help learners access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support for students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies Support students with academic tasks, social development, and emotional regulation Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff Support students during transitions, breaks, and off-site activities where required Requirements Proven experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or similar role Demonstrated experience supporting pupils in both 1:1 and 2:1 capacities Understanding of SEND needs and strategies to support learning and behaviour Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable Desirable Skills Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Knowledge of behaviour management techniques (e.g., Team Teach) Experience in primary or secondary education settings What We Offer Supportive and inclusive working environment Ongoing professional development opportunities Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives Competitive salary and benefits package APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained You must have legal right to work in the UK You must be willing to attend a registration interviewVeritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area.
